FUNCTION:
 
Furnishes oral information to patrons at a public window or over the telephone,regarding the Postal Service in general and regarding the services provided by the local post office in particular.

REQUIREMENTS:
 
Applicants must have demonstrated to a sufficient degree the following skills, abilities, and knowledge to assure adequate performance in the position:
 
B-6. Ability to use reference materials and manuals.
 
B-10. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
 
B-14. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc.
 
B-19. Ability to instruct.
 
B-53. Ability to work with others.
 
A. Ability to understand mail schedules B. Ability to maintain pleasant and effective public relations with customers under varying circumstances. C. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.
 
ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS:
 
(1) Applicants must have at least three years of experience in which the employee gained thorough knowledge of postal regulations and the distribution of mails.
 
(2) Successful completion of a 4-year high school curriculum may be substitute for one year of experience
