FUNCTION:
 
Performs a variety of activities involved in the receipt, handling, inspection, warehousing, and shipping of materials, including postal money orders.

REQUIREMENTS:
 
This section is composed of Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) which are required to satisfactorily perform the tasks of the position. Applicants must demonstrate that they possess a sufficient level of each KSA, to include at least minimum competency for senior-qualified positions to enable them to perform these tasks satisfactorily. Applicants demonstrate these levels by describing examples of experience, education, or training, any of which may be non-postal. Ratings are based on the demonstration of the level of possession of each of the KSAs. Failure to demonstrate any KSA is disqualifying.
 
Knowledge of regulations and procedures governing the receipt, handling and shipment of stock, supplies, and equipment.
 
Ability to identify and resolve problems related to the quality or quantity of shipments and inventories.
 
Ability to communicate orally and in writing sufficient to express ideas or facts clearly and logically when answering questions, giving directions, and providing information.
 
Ability to work without immediate supervision, including the ability to independently plan and schedule work activities and meet deadlines.
 
Ability to accurately maintain records, complete shipping/ receiving, inventory and related forms and prepare reports.
 
Ability to operate a computer using inventory and related shipping software applications.
 
EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS:
 
Applicants must successfully complete the Virtual Entry Assessment CS(477):
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
Applicants must be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of the position.
 
ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS:
 
Applicants may be required to have or obtain appropriate authorization for operating a forklift or similar industrial equipment.
 
Applicants may be required to pass background investigations regarding their suitability for working with accountable paper.
